Both antennas are almost identical. Speaker on the FT-991 Transceiver is
the Yaesu MLS-200, the FTDX-5000MP is using its SM-5000 speakers. I
have tried to keep the width/DNR/IPO settings the same on both radios.
The
FT-991 is brand new in the shack and because of the mixed reviews, I
haven't even removed the plastic covers. So far, quite good. The lack of
buttons means adjustment to DSP settings is more involved on the FT-991
compared with the FTDX-5000 and believe it or not, the internal ATU
accepts a wider range of impedances on the '5000 too!
